The world of science is complex and the scientific work often lacks of clearity to non institute members. Especially considering a large institute like the AWI with approximately 1000 employes in different departments of basic research, various junior research groups and industry related groups like the Bionic Lightweight Design, it is not quite easy to get insight into the everyday working life by checking the organigramm and the information on the webside. Following the motto “Giving AWI a face” the scientific work of different groups is presentet in small videos by selected emploces of the AWI.

The latest portait features Paul Bomke of the ELiSE team. He gives insight into the work and science of the Bionics group and represents a creative engineering work far away from sealed off scientists and conservative technologists.
